For TRIQBRIQ — a manufacturer of sustainable timber construction systems — VKE built a fully linked production system that turns a planed timber beam into a fully assembled, laser-marked solid-timber building block. Four modules. One logic. Production where it’s needed.

Conventional manufacturing systems are fixed installations: one location, fixed capacity, long supply chains. The TRIQBRIQ line follows a different logic — each of the four modules has its own controller, stands on a mobile frame and can run standalone or linked. Plug in and produce.

This makes decentralised micro-production possible: close to the raw material, close to the customer, with no idle or excess capacity — while delivering consistently precise results.

Magazine & Inspection Station

The digital gatekeeper for raw-timber quality

Buffer for up to 15 timber beams — the line keeps running while the operator loads the next batch.
3× AI-assisted 360° camera inspection checks every beam all round for cracks, defects and grading class.
Detected defect positions are passed on digitally to the timber cutting machine and cut out there during the process.
Fully automatic singulation and position-accurate transfer — no manual handling required. Zero changeover effort for standard formats.

Timber Cutting Machine

Sawing & drilling with surgical precision

An automatic trim cut establishes a defined reference edge — no crooked start, no incorrect final length.
Four high-performance drilling spindles set all dowel holes simultaneously in a single cycle.
A KUKA industrial robot handles all four chamfer cuts and sorts out scrap — without stopping the line.
Splinter-free saw cut with a special blade (partner: Leitz) — a flawless cut surface with no rework.

Assembly Machine

Where individual parts become a whole BRIQ

AI bin picking: robots use cameras to recognise every wooden dowel in the SLC and pick it precisely — two systems for multiple dowel sizes.
KUKA joins each element layer by layer in a precision V-block; a press axis pushes the layers together in a controlled sequence to form the finished BRIQ.
2× force-displacement-monitored servo presses join dowel by dowel — with 100% quality monitoring.
A CO₂ laser burns in the serial number, date and machine ID — complete traceability through to deconstruction and recycling.
Integrated manual workstation for special formats — seamlessly built into the line without interrupting the automatic flow.

Palletising Cell

Finished. Stacked. Ready to ship.

A powerful KUKA robot palletises every finished BRIQ precisely and in exact cycle time onto the Euro-pallet.
Continuous operation until the pallet is full — automatic notification, pallet change, and production carries on.
Fully enclosed safety work area with a dedicated loading & unloading opening.
Compatible with all standard BRIQ formats — direct, flexible and with minimal downtime.
